Lord Beaconsfield Elementary School
Website Design & Development, Maintenance

http://beaconsfield.vsb.bc.ca
Lord Beaconsfield Elementary is situated in Renfrew Heights, in a quiet, single family residential area. This school was built and opened in 1914 and has a long history of serving children and families in our diverse and ever changing city.
In spite of the changes in the neighbourhood and school, there is a sense of continuity at Beaconsfield such that some of the current families are into their third generation of sending children to the school.
Beaconsfield Elementary presently enrols 270 students from diverse backgrounds. There are sixteen language groups represented at the school. Nearly a third of the children speak either Cantonese or Mandarin while English comprises the next largest language group.
The school has a strong connection to its community and wanted to be able to give more back to the community.
They needed to update their existing website and provide relevent information to the public. Lord Beaconsfield Elementary also wanted to increase awareness about the programs that are offered at the school. A bonus was to be able to showcase student art and have the website serve as on online resource for existing parents.
We redesigned the existing website and gave it a fresh new colourful look. A great way to showcase the student work was through the gallery, but the best idea was to have the students draw caricatures of the teachers and have these displayed instead of photos of the staff members.
We update the website monthly with the newsletters that are issued and with upcoming events and news articles.

It was a pleasure to work with such a dynamic and dedicated
